Devotional
One of the most amazing things about this story is, Jesus could have stopped the people from killing him. Jesus was so powerful, he could have stopped them in any way he wanted. He could have frozen them all in place. Or, he could make them all forget what they were doing. Or, he could have become invisible. And, he could have laughed at them because he was so much more powerful than them. But, he didn't stop the people who were killing him. Instead, he let them say all kinds of bad things about him, and then he let them kill him. That was the only way that he could save us. He died because we needed him to die for us. That's how much Jesus loves us. And, that's why we trust him -- because he showed us that he would do anything for us.
