Devotional
Back in Bible times, people had really dirty feet. That's because they didn't have toilets. So, people would poop into a bucket, and they would throw it into the street. So, the streets were full of poop, and people would step all over it. And, they didn't have shoes like us, so the poop would get into their toes. It would be super gross. Now if you went to your friend's house, you wouldn't want to make their house all dirty. So someone would get you a bucket of water, and they would help you wash your feet. Nobody wanted to wash other people’s feet because it was so gross.
But, in our Bible story, Jesus went around and washed all of his disciples' feet. He wanted to help his disciples even if it was really gross. And, he told the disciples to do gross stuff like that for each other. The point is, sometimes if we want to help someone, we need to do things that we don't like. But, we need to help each other even when it’s not easy. If we do that, we’ll all be better in the end.
