Devotional
Jesus didn't have to pay the temple tax, but he paid it anyway so that people wouldn't get angry. But, where would he get the money? God provided the money in a fish! Jesus was teaching Peter a lesson. Sometimes there are things we don't have to do, but we do them anyway so that people will like us more. If people like us more, then we can be friends, and we can help them, and they can help us, and everyone will be better for it. So, we don't just follow the rules. Whenever we can, let's give people reasons to like us, and take away reasons to not like us.
