Devotional
In our Bible story, John was telling everyone to get baptized. Getting baptized means going under water for a bit, and the water helps us to think about some really important things. Everyone went into the water because it helped them to think about their sins. The Bible tells us that sin is like dirt. Water washes the dirt off a person. So, when people went into their water, they were saying they wanted to leave their sins behind. But, Jesus was different. Jesus had no sin. He didn't need to leave any sin behind. So, John was a bit confused. Why did Jesus want to get baptized? The answer is, because he wanted to be with us. He wanted to help us with our problems. We needed to share our problems with Jesus. That was the only way that Jesus could get rid of all of our sins. Aren’t you glad that you can share your problems with Jesus? It’s a great thing.
