Devotional

In our story, King Herod was jealous. King Herod didn't want anyone else to be king. So, when King Herod heard that Jesus was supposed to be a king, King Herod made a lot of trouble. He made a lot of trouble for Jesus' family, and he made a lot of trouble for a bunch of other families too. It's a very sad story. A lot of people got hurt, and Jesus wasn't safe so he had to move to a place far away. But, the Bible tells us, all of this was God's plan! And everything was okay in the end. This story teaches us that we can all get into trouble and we can be very sad sometimes. Even if we do things right, we can get hurt. But, in the end, if we love God, everything will be okay.
