Devotional
Our Bible story is about some wise men who lived in a country far away. They lived in a country where people believed in different gods. People in their country thought there was more than one God, and they thought the gods gave them clues in the sky for what they should do. It was a silly idea, but the wise men didn't have a better idea. They were just trying to do the right thing. So, God used their silly idea to help them out. The wise men trusted the stars. So, God made a special star to show them the way to Jesus. When the wise men saw the star, they packed some very nice presents for Jesus. Then, they started following the star. They traveled for many days. It was dangerous to be so far away from home, and it was not comfortable. But, the star kept on showing them the way to Jesus. Finally, God put the star right above the house where Jesus was staying. The wise men were so happy that they found Jesus! They gave Jesus their gifts, and they worshiped him. And, God gave the wise men a special dream to help them go back home the right way. This story shows us that God is good to people who want to do what is right. We might not always have the right ideas. But, God doesn't wait for us to get all of our ideas right. We just need to try our best to do the right thing, and he will be good to us. So let's always try our best for him.
