Devotional
Do you know where you were born? Almost every new baby in Canada is born in a hospital. A hospital is a great place to be born. It's warm, it's clean, and there are lots of helpful people and all kinds of medicine. There's even free food sometimes! But, Jesus was not born in a hospital. And, he was not born in a nice room. But, he was born in the place where they keep farm animals. It would have been smelly and dirty and dark. There would have been flies and other bugs. That's how some people are born in other parts of the world. Some parts of the world are very poor. Sometimes people there can't get a nice room for their babies. So, God sent Jesus to be born like that. God wanted Jesus to know the kinds of trouble that we have. God wanted Jesus to feel what we are feeling. That's why we trust Jesus. We trust him because he really knows us, and he really loves us.
