Our Bible story is about a group of people who built a tower. But it wasn't just an ordinary tower. It was a tower that was supposed to go to heaven. The people built it because they had a strange idea about God. People in Babel thought that God needed food! And they thought God would get really hungry if people didn't give him enough food. Isn't that silly? But that's what happens when people make up ideas about God. So the people wanted to build a tower to heaven. Then they could give their food to God. Then, God would want to help them back. The people wanted God to take care of their city. And the people wanted God to make them great, so that everyone would see how great they were. So the people gave God food so that God would want to do nice things for them. But does God really need us to give him food? No! God doesn't need our help at all! But God wants to help us anyway. He helps us because he loves us and because he has a good heart. In our Bible story, God stopped the tower because that was the wrong way to be friends with God. But there's a right way to be friends with God. We should thank him for every good thing that he has done for us. Then, we will remember that he has a very good heart. And we should trust him because he has such a good heart. That's what God wants from us. He wants us to trust him because he has a good heart.
