Devotional
In our Bible story, the Jewish people were in trouble. Haman and the king had made a law to kill all of the Jewish people in Persia. But Esther and Mordecai were brave. They did their best to save the Jewish people. But they didn't have all the power they needed. Only God had the power to save them. So God made things happen in just the right way. In the book of Esther, there are no big miracles. But the Jewish people prayed, and God made things happen in just the right way. In the end, Esther and Mordecai had a big part in saving the Jewish people, but it was God who made everything work. It's the same for us. We will all have problems that are too big for us. But no problem is too big for God. We need to be brave and do our part to help people. But God's job is to make everything work.
Discussion Questions
- Did Esther and Mordecai have enough power by themselves to save everyone?
- How did God help his people?
