Devotional
In our Bible story, Josiah had to be different. He had to be different from the people around him, and he had to be different from the kings who had ruled before him. The people around Josiah didn't worship God, and the other kings before him hadn't worshipped God. But Josiah wanted to do what was right. So he listened to God's Word and obeyed it. Some people must have been really unhappy with him because he was changing things. But he didn't just do what people wanted. Instead, Josiah used all of his power to do what was right and good. And he made his country a better place. But he didn't do it alone. God was with Josiah the whole time. God had given Josiah everything he had, and God helped Josiah so that Josiah was able to do great things. It's like that for us too. Sometimes other people around us don't want to do what is right. And sometimes people will be unhappy with us if we do the right thing. But if we follow God's Word, God will give us what we need to obey him, and we can do great things with him.
