Our Bible story has two people in it. First, there was Elijah. Elijah knew God and had a special friendship with him. Then there was a poor woman who lived with her son. The woman did not know how she would take care of herself and her son. But God cared about her family. God told the woman to take care of Elijah. She had almost no food left, but she shared it anyway because God had told her to, and God had promised to take care of her. Then God did a wonderful miracle. God gave her everything she needed to make bread every day. So God took care of Elijah, the woman, and her son. This story reminds us that God cares for the people who serve him, and he also cares for people who are poor. God wants all of us to trust him. When we trust God and obey him, he will take care of us.
