Devotional
In our Bible story today, God told Jacob to go back home to his family. But Jacob was really scared of his brother Esau. Sometimes when we feel scared, we don’t want to do what God wants. But Jacob didn’t have to be scared. Remember last week’s story? God had made Jacob a promise—to take care of him! Jacob didn’t need to be afraid; he just needed to do what God said and trust Him. Jacob thought Esau might really hurt him, but God already knew everything would be okay. God was helping Jacob and Esau become friends again! It’s the same for us too—God promises to be with us and take care of us. Sometimes we feel scared of other people, but we just need to do things God’s way. When we do, we can make more friends.
